Barpipal CBRC in Fulpingdanda completed the reconstruction of 169 houses out of 170 houses. The only house left for reconstruction was of Late Mr. Bharat Subedi and the family members remaining were just the children Hari Bahadur Subedi (Age:11) and his sister(Age:15). They were living in a temporary shelter with no ideas for constructing a permanent shelter. The technical assistance team of TPIS-ERP Package 7 discussed the matter in a community meeting on 28th March. The meeting concluded by deciding the responsibility to be taken by his uncle Hari bahadur subedi and neighbor Dirgha Bahadur Subedi. The project team also decided to help victim by providing required skilled work force i.e. our four Numbers of mobile mason for the reconstruction of his house. The project team decided to construct a one storied single room of Brick masonry with cement.
The construction started with the layout with the supervision of ER. Deepak Raj Pathak and our 4 mobile masons involved in excavation and construction up to the plinth level. After the first inspection of the plinth level by the NRA engineer the second tranche of NRs. 1,50,000 was released which helped in the further construction. Due to the rainy season the construction was delayed but despite all the issues and problems the construction up to the roof level was completed on 7th September,2018 and was ready for final inspection.
With the strong determination of providing a proper shelter to the orphan, the team could successfully construct the house. Er. Deepak exclaims- “This has been one of my happiest moment as an engineer to help socially vulnerable children in providing a proper house. The smile on the face of the kid gives an amazing feeling, which cannot be described in words. I would like to thank SSE and the TPIS ERP project to give me this opportunity to help the people in need.”
